Approximately 13,000 paratroopers were transported to the Cotentin Peninsula aboard 925 C-47 aircraft launched from bases in southern England. This initial wave was followed by the scheduled deployment of an additional 4,000 glider infantry troops, along with essential support personnel—including medical teams, signal units, and auxiliary weaponry—delivered via 500 gliders. One of the most formidable challenges faced by the airborne forces was the execution of a night-time insertion into hostile territory, carried out approximately five hours prior to the commencement of the amphibious landings.

The tour integrates authentic combat memoirs authored by distinguished American veterans, whose firsthand accounts offer a compelling and deeply personal perspective on the realities of war, thereby enriching and deepening the overall interpretive experience.
